A one-question survey? How will this information be used?

This is what is called a "qualitative survey". It is a standard first step in polling research. The results of the qualitative survey are used to construct the questions for a second, quantitative, survey. Our plan is to run the quantitative survey until the beginning of March, then analyze the results, then post a more detailed survey that will help us identify what our members and potential members would like to see at our convention. The second survey will help us identify things we may have missed, things we might consider dropping, and what priorities to use in making budget and program decisions.
